Zimbabwe defeated United Arab Emirates by four wickets in eight-match of Pool B, World Cup at Saxton Oval in Nelson. Zimbabwe had achieved target of 286 runs in 48th over at loss of six wickets.

The openers of Zimbabwe as Sikandar Raza, Regis Chakabva showed awesome cricket and gave good opening score to his team, Raza scored 46 on 44 balls while playing good innings with partner Chakabva who made 35 runs on 62, staying at wicket to achieve good partnership. Hamilton Masakadza couldn’t stand long at wicket and bowled by Amjad Javed.

Brendan Taylor joined the wicket and also played very well and scored 47 on 44 but Sean Williams remained successful who played fastest for team to achieve victory and couldn’t lost his wicket. Middle-order batsman Craig Ervine also helped Williams’ to carry the score to win and they both can made it, Ervine went back to pavilion after scoring 42.

Mohammad Tauqir emerged good bowler from UAE bowling side and bowled 2 but other as couldn’t take more wickets.

The batting line of United Arab Emirates wasn’t bad but their opener couldn’t give good score to team, only Andri Berenger defended well the Zimbabwe’s attackers but never for long time and turned back pavilion after scoring 22 on 36 balls.

Krishna Chandran, Khurram Khan played good innings and stayed at wicket for long time and help team to create strong target as Chandran 34 on 63 and Khan entertained the audience while hitting hard strokes to rivals with best 45 on 55.

However, Shaiman Anwar remained best batsman for UAE batting side who played fastest game scoring 67 on 50 balls with 9-4s and only one 6s.

Zimbabwe’s bowling side appeared so impressive as Tendai Chatara took 3 wickets with 4.20 economy rate and Sean Williams, Solomon Mire got 2, 2 wickets.
