Israeli Parliament Approves New Law against Palestinian Stone Throwers

A new law has been approved by the Israeli parliament, under which if Palestinian activists throw stones on moving vehicles, will face the more than 20 years in prison if convicted or caught red-handed.



Electronic Intifada, a website that brings out articles and resources on Palestinian struggle, published on Tuesday, “This law is not about stone-throwing. It is about repressing any form of Palestinian resistance or protest to Israeli colonization and occupation,”

According to the latest information that law will resist in way of those Palestinian protesters who make wrong while throwing stones on people as well moving vehicles.

According the law, Palestinian stone throwers could receive 10 years prison as well more than 20 years if their acts injure those occupants in their vehicles.

The Israeli authorities vowed to launch these punishments while noticing wrong acts of Palestinian protesters, hence Israeli lawmakers voted 69 to 17 late on Monday to overcome bad activities of activists.

Jamal Zahalka, who is an Arab lawmaker, called that law hypocrisy, dissimulation as well believes that stone throwing is their rage as Israeli security forces disturb them otherwise they can’t do this kind of acts against Israeli people.

Zahalka said, “You are picking on the person responding to major injustices.”

The Palestinian Prisoner Club; is an independent, non-governmental, Palestinian was formed to support Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, its head Mr. Qadura Fares said in his statement that the law is unacceptable, against the humanity and disgusting as it against Israeli people.

Mr. Fares further said that the latest rule violation of Palestinian rights to protest against brutality by Israeli authorities.

According to Israeli authorities, Israeli security forces have been battling against Palestinian activists since the first Palestinian revolution and that helping reducing ratio of clashes between Palestinian youths and police regularly, while stone-throwing is a clear symbol of Palestinian resistance.
