India and Sri Lanka Sign Civil Nuclear Cooperation Deal

The elected President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena turned India where held extensive negotiations with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.



The goal of this trip is that, to remove all past tensions which created between both nations and it is a first foreign trip of Sirisena after taking charge of Sri Lanka as President.

The both nation’s authorities had planned to remove all tensions and expressed their views to start new chapter of strong relation, Sirisena and Modi’s first meeting was held in New Dehli.

An agreement of Civil Nuclear Cooperation Deal had done between India and Sri Lanka on Monday, not only this both countries also talked about to resolve long-standing issues and to make better relations as well as discussed trade.

After signing the contract for nuclear safety, President Sirisena continued talks with Indian PM Modi for other issues– Modi described him that it was a biggest opportunity for Sir Lanka to create new relation with India.

PM Modi stated while addressing with media reporters, referring nuclear reached contract that no one can divisible both nations prosperity and security, were working to open the potential of their economic co-operation.

After negotiating with Sri Lankan President, Mode explained media, “The bilateral agreement on civil nuclear cooperation is yet another demonstration of our mutual trust,”

The officials to media referring talks which done between both countries in New Dehli, said that with the help of the nuclear contract both countries have the right to share proficiency on management of radioactive waste, environmental protection and nuclear disaster mitigation.

The nuclear agreement also authorizes to Sri Lanka, to gain training for use of radioisotopes, radiation- nuclear safety as well as nuclear security.

If we take a view in past, so it appears that concerns were emerged from Sri Lankan politician regarding Russian-built nuclear power plants of Indian government in Tamil Nadu state, close to Sri Lankan Land.
